SLA Past-Presidents Deb Hunt and Guy St. Clair Discuss the New Knowledge Services – from Collections to Connections

San Diego, CA

International library transformation company Soutron Global announces its sponsorship of a new SLA seminar discussing The New Knowledge Services – From Collections to Connections. The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th, from 9:30–11:00 am at Vancouver Convention Centre West, Room 220, during the SLA 2014 Conference. SLA Past Presidents Deb Hunt (Information Edge/Mechanics' Institute) and Guy St. Clair (SMR International) will be the guest speakers.

Join Deb Hunt and Guy St. Clair as they discuss how the role of specialist librarians and information professionals is enhanced by their skills, competencies, and professional know-how to bring people together to provide Knowledge Services.

At this interactive seminar, Deb Hunt and Guy St. Clair will facilitate a lively discussion regarding how we move from collections to connections and differing approaches for balancing the components will be reviewed.

During this session, Soutron Global (booth #912) will also briefly showcase the company's cost effective enterprise information management solutions to demonstrate how you can enhance the economic value of your knowledge assets and improve personal productivity while reducing operating costs.

The first 30 registrants will receive a copy of The Librarian's Skillbook: 51 Essential Skills for Information Professionals autographed by Deb Hunt. All seminar attendees will be eligible to win an iPad Mini!

Plus, all seminar attendees will receive a copy of Soutron Global's latest publication: From Collections to Connections: Managing the Transformation of Libraries into the Digital Resource Centers of the Future, where Guy St. Clair outlines—in sharp detail—how specialist librarians and strategic information and knowledge professionals are positioned to lead the way in connecting content captured in collections (wherever located and however defined) to the people who will collaborate in using that content.

SLA attendees are asked to RSVP to reserve their seat on our website (
